Richard Ward, chief executive officer of Lloyd’s, will step down at the end of the year in a decision announced by the Council of Lloyd’s of London. Ward has led the specialty insurance market for the past seven years, making him the longest-serving Lloyd’s CEO in its 325-year history, according to a written statement. In the statement, Ward did not say why he is stepping down. Lloyd’s will now conduct a process with the goal of appointing a successor before the end of the year.
