Twitter is an extremely versatile tool for local insurance agencies to reach out to their communities and engage their followers. By utilizing 140-character snippets of information, agencies can provide useful information, relevant news, and helpful tips to their followers across the platform. One particularly useful way to utilize Twitter is for local insurance agencies to reach out to their specific communities with tweets tailored especially for them.

One example of how to reach your community on Twitter is to engage followers with tweets regarding local goings-on. If a town or community is hosting an event relevant to your agency—a trade show, fair, or fundraiser, for instance—it may be a good idea to utilize hashtags or links to that event to grow your brand. After all, if Twitter followers are specifically looking for information related to one of these events, they will see that your agency’s brand has been linked to that event, and more interest and attention can be drawn to the products and services your agency offers.
