The agent and broker sector added jobs for the sixth straight month in November 2013, and is now just over 3,000 positions short of its July 2007 employment peak, according to the latest U.S. Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics figures.

The addition of 3,300 agent and broker positions for November represents the largest monthly addition in jobs during the six-month period. After losing jobs in December 2012 and the first five months of 2013, this segment has added a total of 15,000 jobs in the most recent six months. Agent/broker employment, currently 676,000, is racing for the prior peak of 679,300, set in July 2007. If the recent pace keeps up, employment in this segment will pass that prior peak in 1-2 months.
