A new report released by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) reveals that motorists in New Jersey paid an average of $1,301.52 to purchase auto insurance policies in 2011, which is 43 percent higher than the national average. A note in the report points out that it’s hard to compare a densely populated and predominantly urban state like New Jersey to larger, more rural states.
