On December 13 Class A shares of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., hit $250,220—rising above the $250,000 mark for the first time, and becoming the most expensive publicly traded equities in the United States, according to the Wall Street Journal. Berkshire Chairman and Chief Executive Warren Buffett bought his first 2,000 shares of company stock on December 12, 1962, paying $7.50 a share, reflecting an increase of 3,333,233 percent. Buffett currently holds 18 percent of Berkshire, and his stake is worth about $75 billion at current prices.
