President Obama has announced his intention to nominate three additional individuals to the board of directors of the National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers (NARAB).

National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) President and Missouri Insurance Director John M. Huff, Alaska Insurance Director Lori Wing-Heier, and Robert Suglia, a senior vice president and General Counsel at Amica Mutual Insurance Company (Amica), will be appointed to NARAB, according to an announcement from the White House.

NARAB is an independent nonprofit corporation intended to act as a clearinghouse to streamline state licensing for insurance producers. Its 13-member board of directors was to have been appointed by the White House no later than mid-April 2015. Prior to this announcement, President Obama had sent only seven names to the Senate for confirmation.
