The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the states of Georgia and Oregon to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the area affected by a severe storm and flooding during the period of December 14-17, 2016.  FEMA also announced a disaster declaration for Mississippi, to supplement efforts in the area affected by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding during the period of January 20-21, 2017.

On January 26, FEMA approved an additional request for funds to help Georgia residents affected by storms earlier this month that ravaged six counties and killed 15 people.

FEMA also issued summaries of key federal disaster aid programs that can be made available as needed and warranted under President Trump’s disaster declarations for Georgia, Oregon and Mississippi.
