PIA National President Terry Adams and President-elect Ray Peretti both spoke at PIA affiliate conventions in the past week.

On May 2, Terry Adams spoke to the annual meeting of PIA of North Dakota in Bismarck. "PIA has assumed a high profile defending independent insurance agents, in the press, at the NAIC, at NCOIL and in our state capitals," said Adams. "All of us believe in PIA. All of us are committed to PIA succeeding - not just in the short term, but for decades to come. Professionalism in insurance can be found at the intersection of PIA and Main Street. PIA is Main Street."

On May 5, PIA National President-elect Ray Peretti addressed the PIA of Nebraska and Iowa  annual convention in Lincoln, Nebraska. "I'm from Washington, and I'm here to help you," said Peretti. "Don't worry - I'm from the other Washington - the one where the government doesn't spend your money that it doesn't have. It's Washington, D.C. that PIA has to keep an eye on."

"It is PIA's goal to 'fight the good fight' for our members," Peretti said. "We do that by being the best legislative, regulatory and business advocate for PIA members. Then, we project our power to the entire industry. PIA members aren't merely independent - PIA members are the professionals in insurance."
