PIA National has announced a call for nominations for three prestigious national awards.

Nominations are being accepted between now and January 17, 2008 for the association's Professional Agent of the Year Award, the PIA National Customer Service Representative (CSR) of the Year Award and the PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year Award.

The PIA National Professional Agent of the Year Award, the association's highest national award of distinction, is presented annually to one outstanding professional insurance agent who is a member of PIA. Nominations for this award are made by PIA state and regional affiliate associations.

"As an agent-driven association, the recognition afforded each year to one of our fellow member agents has special significance," said PIA National President Robert Page. "To be named by one's PIA peers throughout the nation as Agent of the Year is truly a distinction that has no parallel."

The PIA National Customer Service Representative (CSR) of the Year Award is given annually to an outstanding agency customer service representative who works for a PIA member insurance agency. Nominations for this award are made by PIA members. PIA National is pleased to announce that beginning in 2008, the CSR of the Year Award is sponsored by The Hartford, a member carrier of The Partnership (formerly the PIA-CCEO).

"The Hartford is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the PIA National CSR of the Year award," said Dan Brown, Executive Vice President of Sales & Distribution for The Hartford Property & Casualty Operations. "We have long recognized and appreciated the many hats CSRs wear in their agencies, but especially the role they play in providing exceptional service for their customers."

The PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year Award is given to an outstanding employee, owner or principal of a PIA member agency who is under the age of 40. Both PIA members as well as PIA state and regional affiliates may make nominations for this award, which is sponsored by Rough Notes magazine.

"Attracting more young people to join our industry is a critical mission," said Rough Notes President & CEO Walter J. Gdowski. "For the third year in a row, we are pleased to join with the PIA to recognize the outstanding young insurance professionals who are making our industry their career choice."

All three awards will be presented during a luncheon on March 1, 2008 in Arlington, Virginia, in conjunction with the 2008 PIA Federal Legislative Summit and Spring 2008 Board of Directors and committee meetings.

Nomination forms are available here.

PIA's three other major national awards -- the Company Award of Excellence, the Managing General Agency of the Year and the Company Representative of the Year - will be presented in Austin, Texas September 20, 2008 in conjunction with the association's fall meetings.
