PIA National Immediate Past President Ray Peretti of Renton, Washington reflected on his 25 years of leadership in PIA National during the association's fall Board meeting on September 16, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Peretti was president of PIA National during its 75th Anniversary.

Ray Peretti said that when he first came on the national Board, PIA was in the midst of an important transition period in which the organization had to become "lean and mean." Reflecting on his year as president, Peretti said when he came close to his term, people kept asking him what he was going to do. He said his response always was "Hey, it aint't broke, don't try to fix it. Everybody knows their job, everybody knows what they're going to do, what they have to do and how to do it…so just go do it!"

Peretti served on the executive search team that recommended hiring PIA National Executive Vice President & CEO Len Brevik. "Gratefully, Len is our Exec, he has been for almost four years now. He's just done an incredible job in guiding this ship and he has it going in the right direction now."

"Thank you - all of you - for the support you've given me and Lynne as your leader during the past few years. And a big, special thanks to the staff - you people are incredible. Thank you again," Peretti concluded.
