Professional Insurance Agents Association of Ohio, Inc. (PIA of Ohio) is celebrating 75 years of service to independent agents across the state of Ohio. The milestone anniversary was recognized during PIA of Ohio's Annual Business Meeting, held Oct. 2 in Dublin, Ohio.

On October 14, 1933, PIA began as an association that promoted a spirit of cooperation between agents and the companies they represented, and was also committed to supporting "the principles of aid in a lawful and proper regulation of the industry."  Today, those same principles hold true as PIA of Ohio remains the largest independent agents association in Ohio.

"PIA has long provided a sense of stability to independent agents during uncertain and unpredictable times, allowing agents to work together and support common interests," said Terry Kelso, PIA of Ohio president.

"PIA goes beyond education and advocacy and takes a broader approach to serving members' business interests by going a step above and focusing on the various priorities, programs and services that help agents be better every day," said George Haenszel, CAE, PIA of Ohio executive vice president. "This is what has made PIA of Ohio 75 years strong," said Haenszel, "and it is what members can expect for the next 75 years."
