The Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) Community Foundation of the PIA West has given the Lincoln County, Oregon organization Food Share a donation of $1,000. The request for assistance came from Newport, Oregon insurance agent Greg Wells of Greg Wells Insurance. He serves on the Food Share's board of directors. "The Lincoln County Food Share operates seven food pantries in Lincoln County. More than 1,000 families depend on us for help. The task is daunting," Wells said. "The current economic conditions have heightened the problem. Donations are dropping off and we appreciate the help offered by the PIA Community Foundation."

PIA West's foundation also gave $2000 to the Echoing Evergreen Booster Day Camp in Vernonia, Oregon at the annual PIA of Oregon convention. The camp was wiped out by last winter's flooding. Without the foundation contribution, there would have been no summer camp for the area's kids. The flooding in the region was devastating and our donation saved the program.
