Over the past few weeks, officers and members of PIA of Connecticut (PIACT) met with Connecticut’s federal representatives on issues important to the state’s insurance industry as well as its residents, as part of PIA National’s District Lobbying Day.

A delegation of PIACT officers and members met with high-level staffers for U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) in his Hartford office. PIACT members also met with Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.), Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) and Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.).

“We appreciate that Connecticut’s leaders took the time to meet with PIA’s local volunteers,” said PIACT President Augusto Russell, CIC, of May, Bonee & Walsh Inc. in Glastonbury. “Their willingness to discuss the concerns of Connecticut’s insurance-buying public with an appreciation of the interests of small businesses demonstrates the commitment they have to serving both the personal and business interests of their constituencies. We look forward to continuing our conversations and moving forward together.”
