PIA National President Robert P. Page of Houma, LouisianaWASHINGTON, October 9, 2007  - Robert P. Page of Houma, Louisiana has taken the oath of office as President of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA National).

Page is co-owner of Charles A. Page and Sons Insurance Agency in Houma. He has served on the PIA of Louisiana Board of Directors since 1996. With the state association, he has held the offices of secretary/treasurer, president-elect, president and national director of PIA of Louisiana. 

Robert Page's one-year term of office as head of the national PIA began on October 1, 2007. He was formally inaugurated on September 16, during a ceremony in Albuquerque, New Mexico held during the association's fall national board meeting.

During the past several years, Page has held a succession of officer positions with PIA National, culminating with his current position as president. In addition, Page has served as chair of the PIA National Natural Catastrophe Task Force.

In remarks following his inauguration, the PIA President said PIA remains strong because it focuses on the issues that matter most to both its members and their clients, and is always steadfast in defense of PIA members' business interests.

"PIA is a dynamic, effective and growing association and our industry knows it," said Page. "People are calling every day about joining us. I plan to answer that call and continue to grow our association, as we build on PIA's seven-plus decades of success."

The Houma agent will serve on PIA National's executive committee along with Donna L. Pile, CIC, CPIW, CPIA, of Lexington, Kentucky, Immediate Past President; Kenneth R. Auerbach, Esq. of Eatontown, New Jersey, President-elect; Jon D. Spalding of Perry, Michigan, Vice President/Treasurer; and Brian Marino, CIC, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Secretary/Assistant Treasurer.

Page has served as Agent Advisory Chairperson for the Louisiana Home Builders Self Insurers Fund and was a board member of the Southeast Louisiana Home Builders Association. He is currently serving on the Lafayette Insurance Company Agents Advisory Council and also serving on the Louisiana Workers Compensation Corp. Advisory Council.
