Mann; and Debt and Taxes: How America Got Into Its Budget Mess and What to Do About It, with John H. Makin. The Broken Branch: How Congress Is Failing America and What Can Be Done about It, co-authored by Thomas E. Mann, is published by Oxford University Press.

The 27th Annual PIA Federal Legislative Summit will take place in Washington April 1-2, 2009. Hundreds of professional, independent insurance agents will meet with Members of Congress. Their top issue is supporting state regulation of insurance and countering attempts to impose federal regulation on the industry.

Founded in 1931, PIA is a national trade association that represents member insurance agents and their employees who sell and service all kinds of insurance, but specialize in coverage of automobiles, homes and businesses. PIA members are Local Agents Serving Main Street America(SM). PIA's web address is www.pianet.com.
