PIA National Wins Three MarCom Awards

PIA Connection Magazine, PIA Partnership Microsite Honored

WASHINGTON, November 1, 2011 — The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has been presented with three prestigious MarCom Awards by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).

PIA Connection, the association’s monthly magazine, received two 2010 Gold MarCom Awards, one for excellence in an association external newsletter, and one for a feature article, “Women in Insurance – An Agent’s Story,” written by PIA National Past President Donna Pile. The microsite, “Reaching Gen Y and Making the Internet Work for You,” a project of the PIA Partnership, received a Platinum MarCom Award for excellence. In addition, the PIA Branding Program received honorable mentions for its Spanish print ads and Spanish radio commercials.

“These prestigious awards are a testimonial to the excellence, dedication and professionalism of the staff of PIA National,” said PIA National Image Committee Chairman Stan Logan. “Our communications and public relations initiatives continue to present PIA in the best possible light, with a world-class image as ‘Local Agents Serving Main Street America.’”

In 2008, the PIA Branding Program was presented with a MarCom award for its English radio advertisements. In 2007, the PIA Branding Program received two MarCom Awards, a Platinum Award in the Corporate Branding category and a Gold Award in the Advertising Campaign category.

MarCom award entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops and production companies internationally. Other winners have included American Express, the Annenberg Public Policy Center, Booz Allen Hamilton, Carnegie Mellon University, Edelman Worldwide, MetLife Investors, Monsanto, NCCI, Northrop Grumman, Office Max, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Porter Novelli, Sprint Nextel and UnitedHealthcare.

Founded in 1931, PIA is a national trade association that represents member insurance agents and their employees who sell and service all kinds of insurance, but specialize in coverage of automobiles, homes and businesses.
