WASHINGTON – PIA Connection, the monthly magazine of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA National), was presented with the prestigious 2014 Gold MarCom Award by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The annual international awards competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

Presentation of the 2014 MarCom Award recognizes the recent redesign of PIA Connection, with a new look that is cleaner, crisper and more contemporary. The magazine was expanded and its editorial focus broadened. PIA Connection celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2015. In addition, the PIA National Agency Marketing Guide received an Honorable Mention in the 2014 MarCom competition.

“The MarCom Awards define the standard for excellence in marketing, advertising and branding,” said PIA National Executive Vice President & CEO Mike Becker. “It is especially gratifying to have our publications recognized along with the best in all industries.” PIA has also received MarCom awards in previous years in recognition of its publications as well as the PIA Branding Program.

MarCom award entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops and production companies internationally. Winners have included American Express, the Annenberg Public Policy Center, Booz Allen Hamilton, Carnegie Mellon University, Edelman Worldwide, MetLife Investors, Monsanto, NCCI, Northrop Grumman, Office Max, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Porter Novelli, Sprint Nextel and UnitedHealthcare. The 2014 MarCom award competition received over 6500 entries.
