PIA National Now Accepting Spring Award Nominations

Deadline Extension: April 25, 2024

PIA National is calling for nominations for three prestigious national awards.

Professional Agent of the Year
Young Insurance Professional (YIP) of the Year sponsored by The Rough Notes Company
Customer Service Representative (CSR) of the Year

PIA National Professional Agent of the Year

Purpose of Award

To honor a PIA member agent who has distinguished his or herself as an independent agent.

Judging Criteria

Nominees are judged on their:

• Contributions to their agency
• The agent’s professional education and experience
• The agent’s contribution to the American Agency System in general and PIA in particular
• The agent’s involvement in community affairs and their performance as an industry spokesperson.

Nominees may not have held any of the following PIA National positions during the three years before the nomination deadline: President, President-Elect, Vice President/Treasurer, Secretary/Assistant Treasurer, Immediate Past President.

Submission Qualification

The PIA National Professional Agent of the Year must be nominated by a PIA state/regional affiliate association. In states where PIA National provides PIA services, PIA member agents may submit nominations for this award.

PIA National YIP of the Year

Purpose of Award

To honor an employee, owner or principal of a PIA member agency who is under the age of 40 or a member of a PIA affiliate Young Insurance Professionals association.

Judging Criteria

Nominees are judged on their:
• Professional experience and education
• Involvement in the insurance industry
• Promotion of PIA
• Involvement in community affairs
• Anything else that demonstrates the candidate is an outstanding Young Insurance Professional (YIP) and an asset to his or her agency and clients.

In states where the PIA affiliate has a Young Insurance Professionals association, there is no age cut-off, however, the nominee must be a member of that association. In states where there is no PIA-affiliated Young Insurance Professionals association, the nominee must be under the age of 40 on the nomination deadline.

The winner will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize and recognized via a PIA press release and online video.

YIP of the Year must be nominated by a PIA member or a PIA state or regional affiliate association. The nominee must be an employee, owner, or principal of a PIA member agency to be eligible.

PIA National CSR of the Year

Purpose of Award

To honor the professionalism and unique contributions of an outstanding Customer Service Representative (CSR) who works for a PIA member agency.

Judging Criteria

Nominees are judged on their:
• Exemplary talents
• Abilities and aptitudes
• Dedication to a PIA member agency
• Ability to provide clients with a high level of customer service
• Commitment to betterment through education
• Contribution to his or her community

The winner will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize and recognized via a PIA press release and online video.

Submission Qualification

The PIA National CSR of the Year must be nominated by a PIA member agency. The nominee must be an employee of a PIA member agency and not be an agency owner or principal.

PIA Affiliate State-level Winner Nomination Forms

Winners of corresponding state-level PIA Awards within the past 12 months automatically advance to the PIA National Awards competition.

PIA affiliates need only to complete the state-level winner nomination forms and provide relevant nomination materials and/or supplemental materials to advance a state-level winner to the national competition. State-level winner nominations must be summited by PIA affiliates.
